What is ShareOnline?
ShareOnline is a simple, fast, and privacy-focused online service designed to share files through a direct link. You upload a file, receive an encrypted link, and send it to anyone without creating an account.
Do I need an account to use ShareOnline?
No. ShareOnline requires zero registration. There are no logins, passwords to sign up with, or verification emails. Simply open the website, upload your file, and get your link.
How do I share a file?
Drag and drop your file into the upload zone or click "Choose file". Once the upload completes, copy the generated link and paste it into any email, messaging application, or social channel.
How long are shared files available?
By default, files remain available for 7 days. You can also select 1 hour, 1 day, 30 days, or "Never". Once the expiration window lapses, the file is automatically and permanently purged from our storage.
Can I protect a file with a password?
Yes. Before uploading, you can toggle password protection and choose a passphrase. The password is encrypted server-side with scrypt. Recipients must input the correct password before they are granted access to download the file.
What file types are supported?
We support all standard document, media, and archive types (PDF, ZIP, DOCX, MP4, PNG, JPG, CSV, etc.). For security reasons, executable files and server scripts (.exe, .bat, .cmd, .sh, .php, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
How large can an uploaded file be?
The current upload limit is 100 MB per file, which accommodates standard documents, presentations, high-resolution graphics, and archives comfortably.
Are my files private?
Yes. Your files are stored with random, unguessable storage keys and accessible only via cryptographically secure share IDs. We do not index private links, do not share data with advertisers, and enforce noindex rules for all share pages.
Is ShareOnline completely free?
Yes, ShareOnline is 100% free to use for everyday file sharing without hidden subscription traps or credit card requirements.
Can I use ShareOnline on mobile devices?
Yes. ShareOnline is fully responsive and optimized for mobile browsers on iOS and Android. You can choose files directly from your mobile camera roll or document manager.
